Raised in a family of weaving, knitting, crochet and sewing culture, Julie developed from an early age her artistic personality and interest in textiles. As a teenager, she learned sewing and creating clothes. She developed a passion that lead to studies in fashion design at Cégep Marie- Victorin, then to an extent on design work and clothing alterations. In 2013, after a detour to devote herself to her two daughters, she is back to textile construction studies, at The Montréal Centre for Contemporary Textiles, to perfect and expand her knowledge. Graduating in 2016, Julie is now making original pieces and continuing her experimentation with new techniques, such as working with textile volumes ( origami ) and shibori.
